The browsers and SEO/traffic bots usually support two types of proxies: HTTP and Socks. For programs, there is no difference. With the correct proxy type settings, they can work with both. For detailed technical differences, please read this page: socks proxy vs. http proxy.

Socks proxies have two versions: SOCKS5 and SOCKS4. They are almost the same. If your program supports SOCKS5, it should supports SOCKS4 too. Most of our socks proxies are SOCKS4. Please select SOCKS4 in the proxy type option of your program.

No. Those proxies are public proxies which we collect from the Internet. They don't support those websites. For Google, Instagram, or Craigslist, you can buy our Rotating Proxy service.

We update the proxy lists every 30 minutes. On update, we add new working proxies to the lists and remove dead proxies from them. The working proxies remain on the lists.

HTTP proxies have three anonymity levels (highly anonymous, anonymous, transparent). By contrast, all socks proxies are highly anonymous.

The URL of the secure websites starts with https:// instead of http:// (ex. https://www.paypal.com). The proxies which support those HTTPS sites are HTTPS (SSL) proxies. Not all HTTP proxies support HTTPS sites. By contrast, all the socks proxies support HTTPS websites.
